Sheep, Lamb & The Critters

Our school is home to a number of critters that lead a life of five star luxury. Most of them are rescues or strays that needed a home. Our extended family includes two sheep, 9 chickens, five ducks and two guinea pigs.

They are all very accustomed to dogs, so much so that we incorporate them into our socialisation programme for our puppies where possible. All of the animals are safely confined close to the training grounds during classes. By the dogs being exposed to livestock on a regular basis they learn how to behave around livestock in a safe and controlled manner. Both the dogs and our livestock are very precious to us so we ensure safety first!

Sheep is Shannon's favourite and she enjoys going for a ride in Shannon's car. Sheep quite happily walks on a lead and she creates quite a stir when she strolls into the vet's clinic for her annual check-ups. Both Sheep and Lamb pronk whenever they get excited and due to their coffee-stealing we have had to make the office off limits!

They are incredible creatures they also enjoy the odd spot of agility...
